Where to Go Monchique Mountains For stunning views, historic villages, Fontes (natural springs where you can drink and collect fresh cold water) and sample Piri-Piri Chicken or home cured ham knowed as 'Presunte' among the tasty Portuguese dishes served in restaurants. Boat Trips Visit the spectacular cave and rock formations (Grottoes) by one of many types of boats. Also, a trip up the River Arade and see turtles, egrets and storks, and swim in the crystal pools supplied from mountain springs called Fontes – these are said to have beneficial qualities. Beaches There are many beaches along the Algarvean coast to explore - some large like Sagres shown here -  some very small and tricky to get to like Praia de Marinha shown at the top of the page but well worth it!   What else to Do Discover Charming Algarvian streets and quayside fish restaurants. Carvoeiro has at least two less than 5 minutes away.     Algarve Shopping A huge shopping centre 5 minutes further on from Zoomarine.     All night dancing and music Visit the clubs in the tourist resorts of Rocha Brava or Albufeira situated either side of Carvoeiro.       *We have money off vouchers for the attractions available from Interreal who manage the apartment.     Travel without cars Bus transport to other towns. Small road trains from Carvoeiro to nearby beaches and villages.
